Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Image to Text Converter (imagetotextconverter.si). The short version: your images and the text extracted from them stay on your device. We do not upload, see or store them.

1. Your images and extracted text

• Text recognition runs inside your web browser, on your own device.
• Images you add are read from your device into your browser's memory and processed there. They are not sent to our servers or to any third party.
• The extracted text is shown only in your browser. It is not sent anywhere unless you copy, download or share it yourself.
• When you close or reload the page, the images and results are gone. We keep no copy.

2. Files your browser downloads from us

To work on your device, the tool downloads its text-recognition engine and model files (about 40 MB the first time) from our own website. Your browser keeps them in its cache so later visits start faster. These files contain no information about you. You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's site data for our website.

3. Information collected when you visit

• Server logs: like every website, our hosting and content-delivery provider receives technical information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to run the service and protect it from abuse, and is kept only for a limited time.
• Usage statistics: the tool records anonymous events such as "a conversion started", "it succeeded or failed", how long it took, the file type and the language chosen. These events never include your image, the extracted text or the file name. At the moment no analytics provider is connected, so these events are not sent anywhere. If we add one, we will name it here first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

4. Cookies and browser storage

We do not currently set any cookies. We use your browser's local storage only for your light/dark theme preference, and its cache and IndexedDB storage to keep the OCR engine and language files so they don't need to be downloaded again. None of this identifies you. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5. Advertising

The site does not show ads at the moment. If we introduce advertising in the future, we will update this policy before it goes live, name the advertising partners, and, for visitors in the EU, UK and other regions where it is required, ask for your consent through a certified consent banner before any advertising cookies are used.

6. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use them only to reply and to improve the tool, and delete them when no longer needed. We do not sell or share them.

7. Children

The tool is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to its use. Because we do not collect your images or text, in practice the only personal data we may hold is in emails you send us. To make a request, email us.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how the tool handles your information, for example by adding an optional cloud feature, an analytics provider or advertising, we will update this page and the date below before the change takes effect.
