About Us

Image to Text Converter is a free online tool that turns photos, screenshots and scanned documents into editable text. Drop in an image, and a few seconds later you can copy the text or download it.

Why we built it

Most online converters upload your images to their servers, even the ones that say they don't. That is a problem when the image is a bill, a form, an ID card or a private note. We wanted a converter that is accurate, fast and genuinely private, so we built one where the text recognition runs inside your own browser.

What makes it different

• Your images never leave your device. Recognition happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
• Accurate on real-world images: printed documents, receipts, tables, app screenshots, dark mode, photos taken at an angle or upside down, and neat handwriting.
• Reads English, Hindi and Marathi, including documents that mix Hindi and English.
• Free, with no account, no watermark and no daily limit. Convert up to 10 images at once.
• Works on phones, tablets and computers. After the first use, the engine is cached and starts almost instantly.

How it works

The first time you convert an image, your browser downloads our text-recognition engine from our own website and keeps a copy. From then on, every image is processed on your device, using modern deep-learning OCR models for English and a specialised engine for Hindi and Marathi.

Our promise

• We will never upload your images or the extracted text without asking you first.
• If we ever offer an optional cloud feature (for example, for difficult handwriting), it will be clearly labelled, switched off by default, and explained in our Privacy Policy before it goes live.
• We will keep the core tool free.
